Task group 3: Revision of the Technical Guidelines

Head: Jorn Stoelinga, LMR-Drilling GmbH

The "yellow print" of Technical Guideline No. 5 (German version) was sent to members for review at the end of 2023. Numerous comments have been received and are now being processed. The aim is to complete processing by mid of 2024.

Task group 4: Data acquisition and logging

Head: Florian Gies, TRACTO-TECHNIK GmbH & Co. KG

The leadership of the task group has since been handed over from Scott Stone to Florian Gies, TRACTO-TECHNIK. The task group will continue under the title "Data Acquisition and Logging".

Task group 5: DCA/GSTT task group subsoil

Head: Philipp Dick, MOLL-prd GmbH & Co. KG

Since the task group was founded, a total of six meetings have taken place, two of which were held in person. The focus is on the HDD method. This will be followed by a transfer from the pipe jacking method.

Task group 6 "HDD-Image Film" was newly established at the end of 2023. Brian Jorgensen, Ditch Witch EMEA, took over the leadership.

DVGW-Task group GW 340

Responsible person: Jörg Himmerich, Dr.-Ing. Veenker Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH

The yellow print phase for DIN 30340-1 „Ummantelungen zum mechanischen Schutz von Stahlrohren und -formstücken mit Korrosionsschutzumhüllung – Teil 1: Gütesicherung Werksummantelungen“ has been successfully completed. The objections were processed accordingly, the committee has had a completely revised and coordinated draft for adoption as a white paper.

Task group revision of the construction equipment list (BGL 2025, Germany)

Responsible person: Julian Hirsch, Bohlen & Doyen Bau GmbH

In mid-2023 the DCA was asked by Günter Konrad, Senior Site Manager and Chief Engineer at Ed. Zueblin AG, Chairman of the Construction Equipment List Revision (BGL 2025) task group, to participate in the revision. Following a vote by the board, Julian Hirsch from Bohlen & Doyen Bau GmbH was recruited as the DCA representative for this task group.

New DCA-network

In the "Women empowering HDD" project, a network consisting of six women has been meeting since October 2023 to develop concrete measures to get women more interested in the HDD industry. This includes, for example, a survey that was made available to DCA member companies at the members' meeting with the aim of identifying key figures, the role of women in the companies and any uncertainties.

Thesis wanted!

The DCA sponsorship program is currently supporting Adam Lisowski's final thesis at TU Delft on the topic of "Accuracy in HDD". For 2024 there is a preliminary request from a student for a Master's thesis, which has not yet been substantiated. New topics for the sponsorship program are still being sought for this year.

New representative for Eastern Europe

The DCA welcomed its sixth representative for Europe at the members' meeting. Bartek Fratczak from Subside Electronics will be responsible for Eastern Europe.

By the beginning of February 2024, 169 members were organized in the DCA. There are various group directories on the DCA website in the members' area, in which the individual companies are listed accordingly (experts, planners, service companies, etc.). Please check whether the assignment we have made is correct. Multiple entries in different groups are possible. Please send any requests for changes/additions to the office.

28th DCA Annual Congress

The 28th DCA annual congress will take place in Barcelona from October 9-11, 2024. The congress theme and program are currently still in preparation. Suggestions for topics for presentations can be submitted to the office at any time.

30th anniversary of the DCA

The association invites all members to a sailing trip on the Ijsselmeer on 20.06.2024 to mark its 30th anniversary. The registration form will be sent out in mid-March.

Last but not least we would like to draw your attention to the DCA Members' Forum 2024 (bilingual) on 24.05.2024 in Aachen at the Novotel. A joint dinner is planned the evening before, to which the DCA cordially invites forum participants!
