Call for papers and sponsors - 29th DCA Annual Congress, Bamberg, Training as a Mining technologist

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

In today's Member Info 05/2025, we would like to remind you to register for the 7th Members‘ Forum HDD-Technology. To date, we have already received over 60 registrations. There are still a few places available. If you have not yet registered, please use the registration form below. The registration deadline is 21st March 2025.

We would also like to inform you that the DCA is once again looking for interesting lectures and sponsors for the programme of the 29th annual congress, which will take place from 8-10 October 2025 in Bamberg. Please also contact the office if you are interested.

At the members‘ meeting, we provided you with information on the topic of ‘Training as a mining technologist’ in the Mining Technology Training Network, specialising in deep drilling technology. The topic was very well received in the HDD industry. Below you will find the presentation and the contact details of Mr Hünecke from K+S.

7th DCA Members' Forum HDD Technology in Aachen - remaining places still available 

Rock drilling with mud motor versus dual rod system’

You received the official invitation to the HDD Technology Members‘ Forum in the Member Info 04/2025. As announced, the Members' Forum will take place on Thursday, 3rd April 2025 in Aachen. On the evening before, the DCA invites all participants to a joint dinner at the Elisenbrunnen restaurant.

There are currently still a few places left in both groups.

Call for Papers

The 29th DCA Annual Congress will take place from 8-10 October 2025 at the Welcome Kongresshotel Bamberg. An attractive lecture programme including workshops and an exhibition is once again planned as part of the congress. Please send suggestions for interesting HDD lectures to the office by 28 March 2025 at the latest. For lectures, please include the title, name of the speaker and a short abstract. The lecture can be held in German or English. We would be very pleased about your cooperation!

Call for Sponsors

We would also like to draw your attention to the sponsoring programme for the 2025 annual congress. The sponsoring programme is divided into three categories. 

„Communication – Networking – Social Program“

Here you have the opportunity to support the DCA as a Gold (exclusive), Silver or Bronze sponsor in the individual categories. The Gold sponsoring area is already fully booked. There are still places available in the silver and bronze sponsoring areas. 

We would be delighted if more companies would decide to sponsor the annual congress in Bamberg. Please use the following form for sponsors. Submission by 28 March 2025 at the latest.

Training as a mining technologist

At the 2025 Members‘ Meeting, guest speaker Maik Hünecke from K+S AG spoke on the topic of training as a mining technologist. Hünecke organises a three-year apprenticeship for an interest group. The theoretical part of the training takes place at the Haldensleben vocational college (Germany), while the practical part takes place at the company providing the training. During the training, all mining activities necessary for exploring a deposit are learnt. Parts of the training are also based on horizontal drilling technology. The apprenticeship is recognised in Germany and is therefore of great interest for the promotion of young talent in the HDD industry.
