Minutes of the Members' Meeting 2026
Position paper on underground cables (Germany) -
DCA supports the initiative  

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

with today's Member Info 06/2026, we would like to send you the minutes of the members' meeting that took place last February in Wardenburg, one day before the Oldenburg Pipe Forum. The DCA will again be represented at the forum in Oldenburg next year with a booth and two presentation sessions. We are still seeking speakers for these sessions. Please contact the office if you are interested.

We would also like to inform you about the position paper on underground cabling – a prerequisite for a safe, rapid and widely accepted energy transition – which was published in April by leading german industry associations in collaboration with the DCA. In the paper, a broad industry alliance comprising seven associations warns against a change in policy regarding underground cabling.

DCA - Members' Meeting 2026 – Minutes
The members' meeting, held as a hybrid event, was very well attended with approximately 70 of the 206 member companies (160 participants) present. The minutes of the members' meeting are attached below for your review.

Position paper on underground cable laying – DCA 
SECURING A STABLE ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE:
BROAD INDUSTRY ALLIANCE WARNS AGAINST A CHANGE OF COURSE ON UNDERGROUND CABLING.

Berlin, 21 April 2026. An alliance of leading german industry associations (DCA is involved) is strongly advocating for the continued use of underground cabling in direct current projects. The initiative represents several thousand German companies across the entire value chain, from cable and pipe manufacturers through to line construction and civil engineering, right up to specialist technology providers.

The joint message is clear:

Underground cables are not a technical detail, but a strategic success factor for a stable and resilient energy infrastructure in Germany.
